Well, we can’t predict the future so it needs some effort and luck to see them. Not for nothing it’s called “Aurora Hunting” 😉 Best time to see them is in winter season when it’s really dark, it’s possible to see them from October to the beginning of April. You can book one of the Aurora Hunting tours on our website or try your luck yourself. There’s some good places in walking distance of the hostel and you can even see the lights from the hostel. The Northern Lights are not always there, and if they are there you need clear sky to see them.
It depends on the snow. If there is enough snow, we will start the tours. If you’d like to book a tour in November you can do so via e-mail and pay upon arrival. If the tour is cancelled due to the snow conditions… well no snow, no dogsledding.
Yes, but not under 5 years. For the Winterday tour (self-driving) the age limit is 16 years.

There is a lit cross-country ski track close to the hostel and you can find downhill skiing lifts in Björkliden (10km) and Riksgränsen (25km).
